Lorenz Behringer started playing marimba, percussion and piano at the age of 5.
After winning several prices in youth competitions he joined the National Youth Orchestra of Germany.
During High School he won scholarships of the "Jürgen-Ponto Stiftung" and "Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben".
He studied under Prof. Franz Lang at the University of Music in Trossingen, Germany, which has been an elite school for orchestral percussion and contemporary music for decades.
In 2014 Lorenz Behringer became a scholar of the Karajan-Academy of the Berlin Philharmonics and worked with several conductors such as Mariss Jansons, Sir Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Bernard Haitink and many more for nearly two years.
Next to his percussion lessons with Franz Schindlbeck, he started to focuse especially on the timpani, inspired by his teachers Rainer Seegers & Wieland Weltzel, Solo-Timpanists of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 2016 Lorenz is percussionist and permanent member of the orchestra of the "Nationaltheatre Mannheim".
